John Jared Maddux John Jared Maddux
He served four terms as lieutenant governor of Tennessee. 1953-1955, 1955-1957, 1957-1959 & 1965-1967. Twice his name was widely mentioned for governor. When he died prematurely in 1971, his family established a scholarship in his memory at Tennessee Technological University, a school which he had supported zealously during his years in the Tennessee General Assembly.
