Robert Lee Maddux Home

Way Back When: Herald-Citizen, Cookeville: 10 December 1995 - (10 Years Ago) Services were held this week for well-known businessman and avid fox hunter Bob Lee Maddux. One of the founders of Maddux and Proffitt on the Square, Maddux began his career as a merchant in 1914 when he became a partner in the Maddux and Massa Dry Good Store on the Square.

He was as well known for his humor and wit and for his love of fox hunting. He had written two books on the subject and a string of magazine articles over the years. He was 96, buried in Cookeville City Cemetery, TN.
