Both Sara & her husband Thurl attended Putnam County Schools, and Cookeville Senior High School. Both graduated from Tennessee Tech, and both did post graduate work at Vanderbilt University, Nashville. Sarah was an English teacher at Cookeville Senior High School. Eugene has a private Law practice at Cookeville. He is owner and operator of Cove Hollow Boat Dock, Center Hill Lake, Putnam County, TN. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Army and saw action in Korea. Sara lost her life in a tragic fire that destroyed their home in May 1979.
