Phillip Sadler, born in NC in 1806, homesteaded his family on this land on the Caney Fork river as a young man. He was married to Mary Jones and after her death he married Martha Carr Sullins. The Tennessee Legislature approved permission for this marker in honor of his family to be erected in this his family graveyard in 1982.
