In a fit of despondency, last Sunday afternoon at about 5 o’clock, Johnnie White, aged 22, committed suicide with a shotgun, dying almost instantly. He was an excellent young man and most highly esteemed in the community. His untimely death has caused profound sorrow and regret.

The tragedy occurred at the home of his father, Esq Joshua Joseph White of Post Oak neighborhood near Double Springs, this county. It appears that the young man had had some misunderstanding with his sweetheart that provoked the rash act.

His remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery Monday afternoon.
